Gotoh & Partners was founded in 1972, and has over thirty years of history. Over the years, we have achieved a high level of trust and satisfaction from a major Japanese automobile manufacturer, a major electrical equipment manufacture, etc.
In 1995, we moved to our current location in Kasumigaseki. The Kasumigaseki Office is located in the central government office district, and is only one-minute walk from the Japan Patent Office. This location makes it very convenient for us to have interviews with examiners. Further, it is only four-minute walk from the Tokyo the Intellectual Property High Court, thereby making it convenient for appearances in court. |

We offer high quality patent and legal services at a reasonable rate, and our aim is to satisfy the requirements of our clients when filing domestic and international applications, appeals, and lawsuits.
Ours is a medium-sized firm having both the flexibility of a small-scale office and the wide-ranging technical expertise of a large-scale office. This allows us to provide our clients with superior quality of service.
All of our attorneys and technical staff have exceptional technical knowledge, and many of them have worked for manufacturing companies as engineers. They have the experience and skill to offer extensive services, which may involve anything from finding inventions to preparing patent applications and infringement lawsuits.
To produce strong patents, our staff members always strive to obtain a precise understanding of the content of the invention. They also make extra efforts to keep abreast of technological advancements.
We handle around 1,000 cases each year, with around 30% relating to applications to/from foreign countries. We have handled many infringement lawsuits and therefore possess the know-how to deal expertly with both infringement lawsuits and invalidation trials.
As noted above, we are in a position to accommodate various requests from our clients. In other words, we provide not only the services requested initially by our clients but also additional services emerging from subsequent discussions. |
